however the cost of broadband and hosting has risen over the years.
So reluctantly the webmaster is looking to offset these costs,

OUFC 1-2 Coventry City
Despite the same starting line up that featured at Sunderland, United failed to match last weekend's performance.

7th September

United in contract talks with Shandon Baptiste.
Following the success of the player's introduction to 1st team football, the U's are looking to offer the player a long term contract.

1st September

Sunderland 1-1 OUFC
United handed a League debut to Shandon Baptiste. United took the lead on 16 minutes with a Ricky Holmes free kick following a foul on Baptiste. The home side went down to 10 men when Power was shown a red card following a foul on Browne. United coach Shaun Derry also sent off following an exchange with Power. United had chances to wrap the game up before half time.
The home side equalised 10 minutes into the 2nd half and with the home support now getting behind them, they started to dominate. United rose to the challenge and were unluckly when Mackie had a goal ruled out for offside.

United's appeal against Jamie Hanson's red card v Newport has been rejected by the FA.

Gavin Whyte called up for Northern Ireland U21 squad.

28th August

Newport County 0-3 OUFC
United booked their 3rd Round tie with a comfortable victory at Rodney Parade, despite playing the last 15 minutes with 10 men after Jamie Hanson was sent off.
The U's were 2 goals up inside 5 minutes, following an own goal and a great debut goal by Shandon Baptiste. Gavin Whyte grabbed to 3rd in stoppage time.

25th August

OUFC 3-1 Burton Albion
United picked up their points of the season with this victory over the Brewers.
It looked like it was going to be a repeat of Tuesday night as the U's conceeded a controversial equaliser on 40 minutes following John Mousinho's 18th minute opener (though it looked like Browne's free kick went straight in).
The U's came out for the 2nd half with all guns blazing. Goals from James Henry and substitute Ricky Holmes with his first touch sealed the U's first points and win of the season.

23rd August

Hall out for 6-9 months
Following a scan and a visit to the specialist Rob Hall will have to undergo an operation on his right knee.

22nd August

Eales leaves OUFC board
Darryl Eales has stepped down for the board at OUFC to take on a new role at his local side, Solihull Moors.
Although he has left the board he still retains his 10% shareholding in OUFC.

21st August

OUFC 2-3 Accrington Stanley
Despite an improved performance and twice taking the lead, defensive lapses cost United dearly as Accrington came back and snatched all 3 points with a penalty 10 minutes from time.

18th August

Portsmouth 4-1 OUFC
United slumped to their 3rd League defeat in a row after another dismal performance.
They have now conceded 10 goals whilst the single goal they have was an own goal!

16th August

United have been drawn away to Newport County in the 2nd Round of the Carabao Cup.

14th August

OUFC 2-0 Coventry
Following 2 league defeats United made 8 changes to the side that played v Fleetwood. Debuts were given to Mitchell and Norman, while Browne, Whyte and Baptiste started for the first time. Marcus Browne scored the opening goal with a bullet header on 39 minutes. Gavin Whyte sealed the win with a cool finish on 50 minutes. 16-year-old Fabio Lopes came on after 74 minutes and became the 3rd youngest player to have appeared for the U's in a competitive match.

13th August

Following the injury to Simon Eastwood, United have signed goalkeeper Jonathan Mitchell
on loan from Derby County until January. The U's have also signed defender Matt Taylor for the U23 squad after he impressed on trial in pre-season.

11th August

OUFC 0-2 Fleetwood
Ricky Holmes performance was the only highlight for U's fans as the Cod hoodoo struck again.
Scott Shearer made his first league start for United after Simon Eastwood suffered a nasty finger injury during the warm up.
Eastwood could be out for up to 2 months and the U's may have to get another keeper in on loan.

Deadline Day Trio join United!
Ricky Holmes has joined on a season long loan from Sheffield United.
Winger Tsun Dai has been signed from Bury for an undisclosed fee on a 2 year deal.
Derby midfielder Jamie Hanson has also joined United on a 4-year deal also for an undisclosed fee.

Canice Carroll has joined Brentford for an undisclosed fee.

A poor display by United in front of over 1,000 members of the Yellow Army at Oakwell.

Malachi Napa has signed a new three-year contract.
The winger has gone on loan until January to Macclesfield Town.

Jamie Mackie has signed a two-year deal with United.
An experienced striker with 7 Scottish caps and over 400 league games
for MK Dons, Exeter, Plymouth, QPR, Notts Forest and Reading.

United sign NI international winger Gavin Whyte for an undisclosed fee from Crusaders on a three year deal.

2018/19 fixtures released.
United kick off with a trip to Barnsley on 4th August, followed by Fleetwood at home on 11th August. The U's are home to Southend on Boxing Day and away to Plymouth on New Year's Day, the season ends with a trip to Luton on May 4th (Don't forget to wear your stormtrooper outfits!!!!!!!).

United announce they will be wearing PUMA kit next season which will feature the Singha beer logo for at least the next 2 years after United announce that the Thai company are to become official partners of the club.

The Carabao Cup first round draw is on Friday. The draw will take place in Vietnam! United are No. 23. The draw is regional but will NOT be seeded. 10.45 am UK time.

Defender Sam Long has signed a new 1 year deal with United. Joe Rothwell and Ricardinho are still to decide on accepting new deals.

Kane Hemmings has left the club to join Notts Country on a three year deal. NottinghamshireLive say the deal was worth around £100,000.

After much speculation United have confirmed that Ryan Ledson is to join Preston North End for an undisclosed fee.

Star goalkeeper Simon Eastwood has signed a 3 year deal with United. The U's had turned down a bid from Barnsley for the 'keeper in the January window.
